CSX employs tens of thousands of people across its vast railroad network. The WellCasts will kick-off in mid-October, covering a different topic each month.

As part of this initiative, CSX is launching a series of monthly WellCasts to be featured on its employee website. These WellCasts are short, audio podcasts and videos on a variety of health-related topics including, Cholesterol, Diabetes and Hypertension.

"Sensible precautions avoid illness," says Dr. Tom Neilson, CSX Chief Medical Officer and featured speaker in the series of WellCasts. "Whether pertaining to the flu or to heart disease, there are simple things that any person can do to dimish their chances of becoming sick."

The WellCasts will kick-off in mid-October, covering a different topic each month. WellCasts will be structured to describe various common conditions, help CSX employees assess their risks of developing those conditions and provide suggestions on lifestyle modifications that can help overcome or avoid illness altogether.

Says, Dr. Neilson, "It's our hope that by making these resources readily available, we can not only keep our workforce informed, but also keep them as healthy as possible."
