Good Guys with Kind Hearts

When CSX workers from Michigan to Miami, came to Middletown to repair some tracks, they met 11-year-old Levi Hensley, who had come to watch their progress.

Levi was all smiles when asked about his new bike. The boy's grandfather, Richard Riley, 60, commended the workers for stepping up and helping his grandson.

The workers struck up a conversation with Levi and noticed that he was riding a girl's bike. After finding out that Levi's bike had been stolen and he'd borrowed this one from his Aunt, Chris Brigman, a CSX employee from Rockingham, N.C. and Curtis Chesnut, from London, Ky., decided to make it right. They purchased a brand new blue bike from Walmart and delivered it to Levi at his home. The next morning when the men told colleagues what had happened, 70 railroad workers said they wanted to help, too. So – each contributed $1.45 to pay for the $106 bike.

Levi was all smiles when asked about his new bike. The boy's grandfather, Richard Riley, 60, commended the workers for stepping up and helping his grandson. "What they did," Riley said, "was absolutely wonderful."
