CSX Technology recently donated four laptop computers to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), North Florida Chapter. The recommendation for the laptop donation came from a CSX Technology employee who is also a member of the JDRF board.
Over the ensuing weeks, JDRF volunteers used the computers to help with the myriad tasks assigned to them. The staff is using a laptop in their conference room to connect with the overhead projector during presentations and discussions. In addition, they see the laptops as essential to keep track of donor and participant information during routine day-to-day activities and special events. During one such event, the Miracles in the Moonlight Gala on Oct. 23, the JDRF staff was able to operate smoothly and effectively on their busy event night.
“Thank you for your continued support, CSX,” wrote JDRF Developmental Coordinator Lauren Setzer in a letter to the CSX Technology team. “It is greatly appreciated and we cannot thank you enough for your generous contribution to JDRF. The laptops will surely be a great asset to our organization, allowing us to raise much needed funds for a cure for diabetes and its complications.”
