On August 31, CSX Chemical Safety personnel, along with other industry partners in the North Jacksonville Community Advisory Panel, delivered school supplies to area students. Schools benefiting from the project were Ramona Elementary, Pickett Elementary, Brentwood Elementary and Lake Forest Elementary.

Over 400 fourth and fifth graders from the four schools eagerly received bags full of pencils, paper, rulers and more, as their principals and teachers looked on. Said Mike Lunsford, CSX employee and participant in the event, “CSX is proud to join with our chemical customers in Jacksonville to help local children’s education. The Community Advisory Panel in Jacksonville provides a great avenue for this type of support. Whether it involves school supplies, landscaping a local school, providing computers at a community center or retrofitting the Police Athletic League facility, CAP members seek out the needs of the community and respond.”
