The Sixth Annual CSX Charity Train, the company's signature charitable event, took place the evening of Saturday, April 19 and raised $300,000.00 to support five organizations: The American Heart Association, daniel, Juvenile Diabetes, Angelwood and Volunteers in Medicine.

The CSX Charity Train departed from Prime Osborn Convention Center, traveling through North Florida and South Georgia. Guests of the CSX Charity Train were treated to a ride on the company's historic passenger cars.

These unique cars are used for track and facility inspections and special events throughout the year. The 15-car train includes dining, entertainment, dancing, karaoke, office/lounge and observation cars. Attendees are solicited by the individual charities which fill seats and tables onboard the train.

Since its start in 2003, CSX has funded the Charity Train 100%, including all activities, gourmet meal, workers and other support of the trip, so that all funds raised benefit the organizations. The CSX Charity Train has raised more than $1 million dollars total in the last six years.
