CSX feels a responsibility to do all it can to improve and maintain the health and wellness of the many communities in which we operate. To that end, we have forged strong non-profit partnerships with organizations that focus on youth fitness and food access and transportation.
Action For Healthy Kids Partnership & Grant Program
CSX joined forces with Action for Healthy Kids in 2013 to increase the number of kids becoming physically active. Since 2013, almost $1 million in grants have been awarded to 779 schools.
AFHK and CSX’s grant partnership is designed to increase students’ physical activity to 30 minutes per day in school and influence them to be active for an additional 30 minutes per day outside of school; improve student knowledge, attitudes and behaviors around physical activity; and engage CSX employees and parents of students to support physical activity at school and at home.

The Conservation Fund Partnership & Grant Program
CSX and The Conservation Fund have recently partnered on an effort to improve Americans' access to fresh, healthy food by offering Healthy Food Transportation Grants to organizations that distribute fresh produce/perishable food in the 23 states where CSX operates.
This program offers grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 to local government and nonprofit entities that distribute fresh, local foods where CSX operates. To date, more than $200,000 has been awarded to organizations in order to support the delivery of healthy food options to local communities where fresh food and produce are not easily accessible.
