On August 2nd, 2014, a number of CSX 2014 Summer Interns had the opportunity to volunteer for a day of service at a local school by repainting the doors and performing various enhancements to the classrooms. The interns partnered with United Way of Northeast Florida and All Saints Early Learning and Community Care Center for a better tomorrow in this effort.
All Saints Early Learning and Community Care Center, in Jacksonville, Florida provides the community with a nurturing environment and is modeled to satisfy the accreditation standards of the National Academy of Early Childhood Programs. Their education program varies among age groups from 6 weeks up to 5 years old. All Saints strives to promote that "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world".
The CSX interns were able to personally experience how the organization continues to re-enforce its core values among all of its 33,000 employees, and the continual commitment to the communities where we live and operate. The volunteers were amazed by the positive and life changing impact they can provide the community with one simple act of kindness, and are thrilled to be associated with a company that encourages them to offer their time and talents to the community in which they reside.
