CSX was one of 39 civilian employers from across the nation honored by the Chief of Navy Reserve for exceptional support of America’s citizen Sailors.
“Employer support is critical to the Navy Reserve mission. These employers go above and beyond to support their Reserve employees. They enable our Navy Reserve Sailors to serve America on a part-time basis, be ready for full-time duty if called, and to return to work when their military service is complete,” said Vice Admiral Robin R. Braun, Chief of Navy Reserve, at an event in Norfolk, VA on July 26th. “This is our opportunity to thank them for their support.”
CSX was among those recognized for valuing their Sailor/employees, promoting a culture of pride in and recognition of employees’ service, and going above and beyond to support employees who also serve in the Navy Reserve. CSX employees who are also Navy Reserve Sailors nominated the company for the honor.
During the event, employers toured local bases and spoke with Reserve Sailors from Naval Station Norfolk, Commander, Naval Air Force Reserve, Reserve Seal Team 18 and Naval Expeditionary Combat Command.
“Employers are a key facet of every Reservist’s life. The service each Sailor provides to the Fleet is achieved in no small part due to employer support.” said Braun. “A great deal of our success in meeting operational commitments must be credited to our outstanding civilian employers who have given us their unwavering support over the years. We can never take that support for granted.”
