CSX Climbers Team Wins Three Awards at 2013 Fight For Air Climb


On Saturday, February 2, the CSX Climbers team participated in the 2013 Fight For Air Climb in Jacksonville, FL. This annual event was created by the American Lung Association to raise awareness for the 35 million Americans who suffer from asthma. Participants of the event climbed 42 flights of stairs to the top of the Bank of America building. The CSX Climbers team won the fastest team trophy with a combined time of 18:09, thanks to Mike McGovern (5:42), Joshua Mathis (6:06), and Cheng Li (6:21). They also won largest team overall with a total of 126 climbers.

In addition to the day’s activities, participants raised money to support the American Lung Association’s mission, to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease. The CSX Climbers team was the highest fund raising team overall with over $20,000 raised. For information on how to get involved with the CSX Climbers team, contact Roy Carter at roy_carter@csx.com.
