CSX Rail Respond provides firefighters, police officers and other emergency responders with easy mobile access to critical information about what's traveling on CSX rails.
Play It Safe is CSX’s public safety outreach initiative aimed at promoting safety around railroad tracks throughout our 23-state network.
CSX provides non-profit assistance and support in a variety of ways. If you are a non-profit in need of support, please read about the types of assistance we provide.
This program provides the use of intermodal equipment and rail service throughout the CSXT rail network, and provides these organizations with an opportunity to reduce or eliminate their transportation spending.
Each year, teams of employees and community members come together in various locations to participate in clean-up events.
Starting in 2014, CSX will plant an additional tree for every mile of CSX track across the eastern United States. In total we will be planting 42,000 trees by the year 2018.
Healthy Food Transportation Grants
CSX and The Conservation Fund have embarked on an effort to improve Americans' access to fresh, healthy food by offering Healthy Food Transportation Grants to organizations that distribute fresh produce/perishable food in the 23 states where CSX operates.
School Grants for Healthy Kids
CSX and Action for Healthy Kids have partnered on School Grants for Healthy Kids, which are grants available to schools to support increasing physical activity and promoting nutrition initiatives.

Each year, CSX plans a number of major service events across the CSX network with open invitations for employees, partners and community members to participate.
For more than 70 years, the Santa Train has made the holidays brighter for the residents of Appalachia. In a holiday tradition like no other, the Santa Train travels 110 miles from Shelby, Ky., to Kingsport, Tenn., with Santa and his helpers giving out more than 15 tons of clothing, food, toys and gifts at stops along the way.
