Just like how trains are the most efficient way to move goods over land, we’re constantly looking for other ways to have a positive impact on our planet. Environmental clean-up projects are definitely a favorite of CSX employees.
Each year, teams of employees and community members come together in various locations to participate in earth day cleanups, including an annual Earth Day river clean-up and event with the Anacostia Watershed Society near our Nation’s capital. The event has long benefited from the helping hands of CSX volunteers and sponsorship support from CSX.
Another one of CSX’s regular projects is the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s Clean the Bay Day. CSX has served as a co-sponsor in recent years and provided the gift of service with employees volunteering their Saturday to clean up trash and debris along bay’s 64,000-square-mile watershed.
Another great way that CSX employees participate in clean-up projects is through the Team Service program. Team leaders recruit a group of CSX employees and organize clean up events in their local communities. Are you a CSX employee interested in leading a clean-up event within your local community? To get started, submit your request on the Gateway under “How Tomorrow Gives.”
Find A Service Event
Each year, CSX organizes a number of company-sponsored service events in the communities we serve. With the support of non-profit partners like City Year, Arbor Day and Action for Healthy Kids, along with community partners and volunteers, our goal is to improve the community in each of the four Beyond Our Rails focus areas. Learn about our upcoming events, and feel free to sign up as a volunteer.
