Alliance for Community Trees

Trees For Tracks, a volunteer tree planting initiative, promises to plant 21,000 trees — one tree for every mile of track in the CSX system.

The Alliance for Community Trees (ACT) in partnership with grassroots, citizen-based nonprofit organizations across the country, is dedicated to urban and community tree planting, care, conservation and education. In 2009, CSX began a relationship with ACT and it's affiliates to identify communities in need of additional trees. Since then, CSX, ACT and City Year have been implementing Trees for Tracks planting days in cities from Boston to Jacksonville, Baltimore to Indianapolis, orchestrating a massive volunteer tree planting initiative that promises to plant 21,000 trees — one tree for every mile of track in the CSX system.
