CSX has again ranked first among Class I freight railroads in the Newsweek Green Rankings. CSX has consistently placed first among all Class I railroads in these rankings since the awards launched in 2009. CSX ranks 263th among the top 500 publicly-traded companies in the United States, and ninth in the transportation and logistics category.

Trees for Tracks at the Legacy Trail

Legacy Trail is a 12-mile multi-use trail beginning in the east end of downtown Lexington and running to the Kentucky Horse Park. On Saturday, November 5, 2011, volunteers from CSX, Lexmark and the community planted trees in an 11-acre open field adjacent to the trail.

CSX 'Trees for Tracks' Comes to Tampa for Second of Two Central Florida Plantings Just One Week Apart

Some 75 volunteers from CSX and City Year, the Alliance for Community Trees, Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful and the City of Tampa Parks & Recreation planted 50 guava, orange, jacaranda, pecan, Poinciana, cassia and plum trees along the Nuccio Parkway Greenway at North Nebraska Avenue towards East 7th, as part of the railway’s “Trees for Tracks” program.

CSX Plants 50 Trees in Orlando for First of Two Central Florida 'Trees for Tracks' Events Just One Week Apart

In an event covered by WFTV-ABC 9, CSX and City Year joined the Alliance for Community Trees in bringing together volunteers to plant trees at the Southport Community Park as part of the railway’s “Trees for Tracks” program. The event was the first of two events in Central Florida scheduled on back-to-back weekends.

Approximately 150 volunteers for the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta, GA. Tasks will include playground improvements, brush clearing & painting. Volunteers will also construct benches, cubbies & bookshelves for the club.
