CSX Transportation (CSXT) has donated $5,000 to the McNeilly Center for Children as part of its community giving campaign.

"The funds will be used to refurbish writing, literacy and listening areas in the classrooms," Melba Marcrum said. McNeilly Center for Children is one of Nashville's largest nonprofit child care centers providing quality, affordable child care to low income families.

By taking advantage of this service, parents are able to attend school work and/or job training programs, which allows them to create and sustain better lives for their families. The McNeilly Center cares for approximately 600 children in eight locations throughout Nashville.

The CSX contribution was covered in a recent story by The Tennessee Tribune weekly newspaper.
