CSX Makes Big Splash with $50,000 Donation to Waycross, GA Aquatic Center

A $50,000 contribution by CSX to the Waycross YMCA's Aquatic Center helped the only public indoor pool structure in Ware County to complete a more than $350,000 renovation.

A new pool shell, pool deck, roof, fans, water heaters and exterior windows were part of the project.

A new pool shell, pool deck, roof, fans, water heaters and exterior windows were part of the project that houses Water Aerobics, Youth Swim Team, senior water classes and practices for the Ware County Gators local high school swim team.

In addition to the monetary donation, CSXT Executive VP, Clarence Gooden, and his wife, Corkie, donated a 50-inch HD television with surround sound to the men's locker room in the name of a family member, Ellie Royal. The room is now officially called, "The Royal Room."

Of the more than 2,500 Waycross YMCA members, 250 are CSX employees.
