CSX Railroad Presents Pascagoula School District with $11,000

Bob Martin, Safety Public Affairs & Safety Supervisor, presented the Pascagoula, Mississippi School District with checks totaling $11,000 at the Feb. 11, 2008 school board meeting.

The checks are to be used for the district's annual SOAR (Students' Outstanding Achievement Rally) held in May each year and for SMART boards for classrooms.

Gautier High School teacher, Tarase Greenlee, has worked with CSX in the past and introduced the district to Bob Martin. She is the recipient of one of the SMART boards that will be purchased with the CSX donation.

The Pascagoula School District is the first district in the state of Mississippi to receive a grant from CSX to help promote railroad safety to school children.

Approximately 150 volunteers for the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta, GA. Tasks will include playground improvements, brush clearing & painting. Volunteers will also construct benches, cubbies & bookshelves for the club.
