CSX Grant to Fund Needed Hospital Equipment

CSX recently presented a $20,000 grant to Mercy Willard Hospital. The funds will be used to purchase needed equipment for the facility, including an adult/pediatric GlideScope and several emergency crash carts.

It is critical for healthcare professionals to have access to the most up-to-date equipment.

The GlideScope enables fast and accurate intubations, the process of putting a tube into the airway leading to the lungs to help a patient breathe. The crash carts are crucial to assisting in emergency response to cardiopulmonary arrest. "We are excited to have this state-of-the-art equipment for use at Mercy Willard Hospital, and we are thankful to CSX for their dedication to the Willard community," said hospital President and CEO, Lynn Detterman.

Willard, Ohio is home to a major CSX rail yard and Mercy Willard is the nearest medical facility within 25 miles. It is critical for healthcare professionals to have access to the most up-to-date equipment. Said CSX Director of Corporate Citizenship, Tori Kaplan, "CSX appreciates the efforts of Mercy Willard in meeting the inpatient, outpatient and emergency care needs of their community.
