$5,000 — Project Hope of Cleveland

Cleveland, OH —

This summer, CSX contributed $5,000 to Project Hope of Cleveland, designated for Project Hope’s “A Health Care Safety Net” project for the Community. CSX is a regular contributor and strong supporter of the organization.

$30,000 — North Baltimore Local Schools

6/28/2011 in North Baltimore, OH —

As part of the open house at CSX’s new Northwest Ohio intermodal terminal, CEO Michael Ward announced a donation of $30,000 for North Baltimore Local Schools. The donation will fund mobile computer labs in newly constructed school buildings.

$10,000 — Carolina Youth Development Center

Charleston, SC —

These funds will provide partial support for a six-week Summer Biz Camp program to be operated in the Linda and Tony Bakker Career Center on CYDC’s North Charleston campus. The Summer Biz Camp is in operation from June 20 to August 5, 2011.

$25,000 — Chldren's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital

Huntington, WV —

The proposed $12 million Children's Hospital at Cabell Huntington Hospital will create a child-friendly environment that will be comforting to children and their families.

$4,000 — Helping Hands of Greenup County: Certified Community Kitchen

Greenup, KY —

CSX provided a $4000 grant to Helping Hands for use in upgrading their existing kitchen to a certified kitchen, in which clients can learn applicable life and job skills and can prepare food to be sold in their Thrift Store and at local farmer's markets.

$5,000 — ORSANCO Educational Foundation: Ohio River Sweep

Cincinnati, OH —

CSX once again supported the Ohio River Sweep, this year with a donation of $5000. This shoreline cleanup involves thousands of volunteers and extends the entire length of the Ohio River, impacting six states.

$8,500 — Anthony Wayne Youth Foundation: Blue Creek Recreation Area

Whitehouse, OH —

Thousands of youth participants will benefit from CSX's donation of $8,500 towards creating and maintaining green space in the Blue Creek Recreation Area. Additions will include baseball/softball fields and areas for football and soccer.

$5,000 — Childrens Village of Washington County: Life Safety Education Program

Hagerstown, MD —

Each year every second-grade student in Washington County, Maryland, comes to Children's Village free of charge for two days of life safety education. This program will continue in 2010, with the help of a contribution from CSX in the amount of $5,000.

$1,000 — An Achievable Dream

Newport News, VA —

CSX's $1000 grant to An Achievable Dream (AAD) will help the non-profit continue its year-round, extended day public school program, designed to help close the achievement gap between economically disadvantaged and affluent students.

$2,500 — City of St. Clair: Skate-Bike Park

St. Clair, MI —

A CSX grant of $2,500 will provide ramps and rail equipment in support of the City of St. Clair Skate-Bike Park, designed to be a premier recreation gathering place for safe skate boarding and biking in a community park atmosphere.

$5,000 — City of Chickasaw: Boat Rescue Unit

Chickasaw, AL —

The City Of Chickasaw was awarded a $5,000 grant to support a boat rescue unit that will be able to access railroad property from the swamps in the event of an emergency.

$500 — Folsom Volunteer Fire Department: Lead Cardiac Monitor Device Project

Folsom, WV —

CSX's grant of $500 funded the purchase of 12 Lead Cardiac Monitor Devices for the Folsom Volunteer Fire Department's second ambulance, helping the Department maintain compliance with WV State Law.

$500 — Georgia Operation Lifesaver

Atlanta, GA —

CSX regularly partners with Operation Lifesaver, nationally, and contributed $500 to Georgia Operation Lifesaver in support of its presentation of free education and awareness programs, dedicated to ending tragic collisions, fatalities and injuries at highway-rail grade crossings and on railroad rights of way.

$1,000 — New Franklin Fire Department

Chambersburg, PA —

The volunteer fire department operates a two piece engine company, truck company, and a quick response EMS vehicle.

$2,500 — Pembroke Rescue Squad: Rescue Equipment Purchase

Pembroke, NC —

A $2,500 grant from CSX was used by the Pembroke Rescue Squad to purchase a defibrillator that is used to shock the heart of a patient suffering from cardiac arrest.

$1,000 — Clinchco Volunteer Fire Department: Equipment Update for Public Service

Clinchco, VA —

A $1,000 grant was awarded to the Clinchco Volunteer Fire Department in support of much needed building repairs and the update of vital equipment.

$5,000 — WHAS Crusade for Children: Support of Programs for Children with Special Needs

Louisville, KY —

A $5,000 grant was awarded to the WHAS Crusade for Children, in support of programs that help children with special needs.

CSX recently presented a $20,000 grant to Mercy Willard Hospital to purchase needed equipment for the facility.

$30,000 — Conservation Fund's Go Zero Program for Lake Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge

1/1/2010–4/30/2010 in Avoyelles, LA —

CSX helped The Conservation Fund's Go Zero program address two of the nation's top environmental challenges — habitat loss and climate change — by planting 3,137 native seedlings across 10 acres at Lake Ophelia National Wildlife Refuge in Louisiana.

$5,000 — Honor Flight Northwest Ohio

The Honors Flight Network, with hubs in over 30 states, has made it possible for nearly 40,000 veterans to make the trip to the nation's capital, since its founding in 2005.

CSX-City Year Service Day at the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls Club

2/28 at 8:30am EST in Atlanta, GA —

Approximately 150 volunteers for the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls Club in Atlanta, GA. Tasks will include playground improvements, brush clearing & painting. Volunteers will also construct benches, cubbies & bookshelves for the club.
