CSX & City Year Provide Community Clean-up for Atlanta Neighborhood

Volunteers provided property clean-up and landscaping on the Cabbagetown and Reynoldstown sides of the Krog Street Tunnel entrance.

Approximately 50 CSX employees, 50 community members and eight City Year Corps members completed more than 430 total hours of community service in Atlanta, Georgia on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2007.

Volunteers provided property clean-up and landscaping on the Cabbagetown and Reynoldstown sides of the Krog Street Tunnel entrance.

They also brightened the Lang Carson Community Center basketball court with a new mural and playground games and landscaped the grounds of the Lang Carson Community Center.

In partnership with ACTrees, Greenscape, HDR Engineering and the Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT), 75 volunteers will plant 62 trees at Matthew W. Gilbert Middle School. Volunteers will also installing benches & new pathways. The middle school serves students in the Eastside neighborhood of Jacksonville.
